An unassuming building off Quarry Road once generated all the electricity needed for the burgeoning town of Tunbridge Wells. Built in 1894 in the very first years of the new Borough, it remained in operation until 1969. Learn more about this aspect of the town’s industrial past and see the last remaining machinery. The building is expected to be demolished soon – this may be the last chance to visit.
