Just turn up for a walk led by the Commons Warden, Steve Budden. Discover the changes in landscape on the Common which developed as lowland heath and until the end of the nineteenth century had very few trees. As grazing died out, woodland gradually obscured the heather and gorse habitat, as well as distant views. But the 1987 hurricane brought radical changes in land management.
