Tunbridge Wells Heritage Open Days 2009 - St. Mary The Virgin Church, Speldhurst Hill, Speldhurst, TN3 0NN

St. Mary The Virgin Church, Speldhurst

The church is famous for the stained glass by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones. There are also windows by Charles Kempe and Clayton & Bell, and memorials to Major Yorke and other Tunbridge Wells notables. It stands on the site of three previous churches, the first of which was built 1000 years ago.

An archive display for Heritage Open Days highlights the extensive collection of documents about Speldhurst Parish at the Centre for Kentish Studies.
