A Grade II listed stable where cattle, sheep which strayed off the Tunbridge Wells Common, along with other stray animals, were impounded until their owners paid a suitable fine and retrieved them. Grazing on the Common ceased in the early part of the twentieth century, so the Pound is a relic of everyday life in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries
