Tunbridge Wells Heritage Open Days 2009 - Barnett’s Wood Local Nature Reserve, Powder Mill Lane, Southborough, TN4 9EG

Barnett’s Wood

Barnett’s Wood Local Nature Reserve contains ancient woodland, wild flower meadows, ponds, hedges and streams, all typical elements of the High Weald landscape. Join us making charcoal, a traditional woodland skill practised for thousands of years. Charcoal was used in the local iron industry to fire the Tudor forge and refinery situated between Vauxhall Lane and Powder Mill Lane.
